Thanks for your interest in Cedar Run Song Workshops, and welcome to our 2008 catalog/website!
Over the past twenty-five years, I've designed, taught, and attended many music workshops, and, with Cedar Run, I do my best to put together the best elements of all of them, along with a couple of new wrinkles, in one package for you.
For starters, Cedar Run is truly dedicated to finding excellent teachers with a passion for their art and for the process of helping others to find their way in developing their own. Our instructors are accessible and interested in the progress that each student makes during the week. Our small class size will help you to make your experience with us even more valuable, by maximizing opportunities for individual and small group instruction and personal interaction with our wonderful staff.
We're also strong believers in the value of building a supportive artistic community during the week, and giving everyone involved the tools to broaden that community network back home. At Cedar Run, you'll get to hear an abundance of great and meaningful music, from our instructors and students alike. As a community, we'll respect and honor the courage and dedication that it takes to write, to sing, to perform, to communicate.
Cedar Run, by design, is a program of modest size, and so it will remain so that the sense of community that we establish will remain over the years and so that we don't outgrow our facility. It is my hope that as the program goes on, it will be able to adapt and change according to the wishes of the folks who attend. Onced you come to Cedar Run, you are considered to be part of the family and part of the process of growing a workshop program that is truly responsive to the ideas and imaginations of those who attend.
So, if you come to Cedar Run, what can you expect from us? Top-drawer instructors who are thoughtful in their approach to their own art and to the process of teaching. Maximum opportunities for sharing your music with a supportive community of peers. A comfortable facility that is conducive to learning and to connecting with others. A setting whose natural beauty will inspire you. And a reasonable cost that will continued to be competitive with other programs. If you choose to join us for successive years, you will also find a program that is eager to respond to your imagination and your ideas for new program elements.
I do hope that you'll come and join us this summer. We'd love to have you be part of the Cedar Run experience!
