Cedar Run Song Workshops: General Info

Co-Op Plan

(Please click here.)
In order to keep our workshop costs as reasonable as possible, we come to SevenOaks on the co-op plan, which basically means that we take care of making and stripping our own beds, and that we clean up after meals.
When you arrive in the dorms at SevenOaks, you will find your bed linens (sheets, pillowcases, towel and washcloth) folded neatly on your mattress. You will be asked to make your own bed and, at the end of the week, to strip the linens from the beds and follow posted instructions for placing them in linens hampers.
Please come to SevenOaks prepared to lend a hand with after-meal cleanup. There will be a signup sheet posted in the dining hall asking for three or four volunteers to help with cleanup after each meal. We ask that you sign up to help as often as needed; let's spread this work as evenly as possible over the entire group. Jobs include running the dishwashing machine, stacking dishes, cleaning the dining room, taking out trash, etc. SevenOaks staff will be on-hand to show us what to do, and veteran Cedar Run students and instructors will be helpful in this regard, as well.
We've found that pitching in on kitchen crew (even our staff members do it) is a lot of fun and a great way to socialize with others in the program. The work is easy, and it only take 15 to 20 minutes, as a rule, to get everything done.
